If you're thinking about changing your current window treatments and want drapery, the first thing you should ask yourself is if the new drapery will go to the ceiling or the wall.
Here is the difference:
Ceiling Mount is used when the hardware or cornice box/valance goes all the way up to the ceiling. This is a great way to block the most light possible AND it gives the room a taller look. If you're not using a cornice box/valance then we advise to go all the way to the ceiling for best light blockage.
Note: If you have certain crown molding keep in mind you must remove part or all of it.
Wall mount hardware is used by using wall brackets above the window (usually 8"). More light will enter when using this style (unless you add a valance or cornice box).
Note: It's important to keep in mind heavy fabrics because when using wall mounted hardware a weight is an important factor to consider.
